Rozendal Farm comprises of 6ha of vines, 4ha of pastures, 2ha of gardens and living space and 13ha of forest and fynbos. The farm is situated in the Jonkershoek valley on the border of Stellenbosch, on the foot of the Jonkershoek Mountains. The farm and cellar buildings are in excess of 150 years old.

Since 1994 Rozendal is managed biologically (bio+logical = biological) with an environmental and health conscious approach which ensures clean air and pure water. In May 2001 we switched to Biodynamic farming methods and have become members of the Biodynamic Agricultural Association.

Quality in simplicity is the thread and maturing rather than ageing are the threads which link all activities on the farm.

Our wine (a merlot/cabernet sauvignon/cabernet franc blend - predominantly merlot) is made in the old style with the focus on maturation as opposed to aging of the wine. Our grapes are handpicked and the wine is made biologically, without filtration and is matured for two years in barrels at different temperatures.

Our cellar produces between 20,000 and 30,000 bottles of wine per year.
