Well trained porters will take your luggage to your bedroom after having served you a welcoming drink of muscadel, a grape variety which Montagu became famous for over the years.
The Wild Appricot Restaurant
The dining room, positioned in symmetry to the foyer, is the epitome of old world elegance and space. White table cloths and period cutlery takes you back to bygone days when serving a meal was an art form more than merely eating a meal. Our menu will also take you back to yore when tasty mutton was used to create a pie smacking of real sheep that ate healthy food in green pastures. Bobotie, another popular in our restaurant, might be a traditional dish, but we serve it with a fling to surprise you beyond imagination when it is served.

The Montagu Country Hotel is the start of the Historical walk, a popular and informative tour revealing an unique blend of rural and urban architecture, restored houses and national monuments.
Golfing at any of three excellent golf courses nearby

The Robertson Wine Route consisting of estates i.e. Springfield, Van Loveren, De Wetshof, Bon Courage, Graham Beck and many more. Taste and purchase wines after an arranged cellar tour.
The Hot Mineral Springs situated 2.7 km from the hotel offers outdoor warm swimming pools with a constant temperature of 43°C. Relax in the pools with its "healing powers".
Montagu Tractor and Trailer Trip to the summit of the Langeberg mountains is a must. After the trip an optional "potjiekos" lunch is prepared and served by the local farming community.
Walking trails for the nature lover varying from 2.4 km to 15.6 km through the beautiful kloofs of the surrounding mountains.
4x4 Routes - the Waboomsberg and Witkwas for the adventurer.
Breede River Goose Boat Trips for a few hours of complete relaxation cruising on the river.
Montagu Day Trips
Make the Breede River Winelands your base from where to see the Cape. Drive to the South towards Cape Town (2 hours) and you drive into the Boland. Drive to the North towards Barrydale (45 minutes), and you drive through the Fruit Pantry of South Africa of the Little Karoo. Drive to the East towards the N1( 45 minutes) and you will experience the vastness of the Great Karoo. Drive to Cape l'Agulhas (1hour 15 minutes) the most Southern tip of Africa, and you can watch whales in the Overberg (over the mountain) region.

- Children between the ages of 03 and 12 years stay at 50% of the adult tariff.
- Children older than 12 years pay the full adult tariff.

Other Disclosures:
Allocation of rooms is dependent on availability and we are unable to accommodate more than two adults per room.
If payment is made directly into our bank account, proof of such payment must be faxed to us, stating the following:
- Company name
- Client's name
- Arrival and departure dates
- Date of deposit
- Value of deposit/currency.
In the case of a cancellation within one week before arrival, a cancellation fee of one night's accommodation will be charged, unless we are able to sell the room again.
In the unlikely event of a group reservation being cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival date, the hotel will levy a cancellation fee equivalent to 100% of the cancelled accommodation should our efforts to resell the accommodation in question not be successful.
A 10% administration & cancellation fee will be kept for any deposit refunded.
