Gert bought his first hotel, d'Ouwe Werf, in Stellenbosch after completing a year long stint at the Grant Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam as trainee in 1972. A great example to his staff, you'll see his distinct methods evident through out the hotel. He is also a major player in the broader tourism arena, serving on advice committees for the provincial government. Gert also played a major role in getting Route 62 up and running.
P-J has been working with Gert Lubbe since 1998, where he started as member of the reception staff at Gert's other property, Matoppo Inn in Beaufort West. He moved to Montagu in April 1999, and took over as General Manager in October the same year.
Elfred started his career at the hotel in 1996 as a porter. Over the years Elfred climbed the ladder right up to Assistant Manager. With exceptional knowledge of Montagu and the area and a natural gift for communicating with guests, Elfred is a kingpin in the hotel's workforce.
